Subject: International Graduate Summer School - The Policy and Politics of Refugee Resettlement in Canada
Dear Colleagues
CIPE at Concordia University in Montreal will run a graduate summer school on the first wave of Syrian refugee settlements in Canada. It will be held from July 24, 2017 to August 4, 2017. We will have government and NGO representatives, academics and service providers presenting research results as well as policy and operations. The school will have a focus on local as well as regional and international dynamics.
It should be of interest for any student conducting research on refugee movement, resettlement, national immigration models and on the role of non-governmental organization in immigrant integration.
The school is open to MA and PhD students. This can be taken for credit. Admission will be competitive and every admitted non-Canadian student will receive a 2,000$ CAD scholarship and free housing at Concordia. The scholarship covers tuition and some travel costs.
You can find more information on our website (note that we are constantly updating the list of invited teachers): https://www.concordia.ca/artsci/polisci/programs/politics-refugee-settlement-in-canada.html
Application deadline : April 20, 2017.
Please circulate widely.
