Subject: Invitation: Policy Workshop "EU Partnership with Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia" - February 10th, 2017, 11:30AM-5:30PM, Carleton University

Dear CPSA colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you, on behalf of the Centre for European Studies at Carleton University, to attend the Policy Workshop, “EU Partnership with Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia: Prospects for Reform with Implementation of the EU Association and Free Trade Agreements.”

We welcome all interested individuals from your organization to attend, please feel free to forward this invitation along to other parties as you see fit.

The workshop will take place at Carleton University on February 10th, 2017, from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm (A light lunch will be served for registered guests beginning at 11:30 am, with opening remarks starting at 12:15 pm).

This workshop will examine the status of and revisions to the EU’s Eastern Partnership policy since the Ukraine crisis. Three of the Eastern Partners (Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia) are the focus of the workshop discussions with an examination of the progress they’ve made in the implementation of important association and trade agreements reached in 2014 with the EU.

The workshop provides a platform for mutual learning among academics and policymakers from Canada, Europe, and Eastern Neighborhood countries. Academics and researchers will discuss the following topics: the EU’s Eastern Partnership policy; implementation of association and free trade agreements with Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia; and obstacles and prospects for reform in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova. In hosting this workshop, we hope to bring about long-lasting, mutually beneficial collaborations between academics and policymakers both nationally and internationally.
