Subject: Call for Papers - European Conference on Politics and Gender

Dear all,

ECPG are delighted to announce the call for papers and full panels for our 5th conference to be held 8-10th June 2017 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The deadline for submission is 15th November 2016. Participants will be notified of the decision on 15th December 2016.
The online submission portal is managed by ECPR, to submit and add co-authors, every presenter will need a MyECPR account (which is free and very easy to set up): http://www.ecpr.eu/Login.aspx
Please enter your myECPR account credentials. Login. Create a new account

We are running the following ten sections at the conference: social movements and civil society; political participation; power and representation; governance, institutions and public policy; research methods; European Union; international studies; political theory; intersectionality, citizenship and multiculturalism; and LGBTQI rights, sexuality and politics.  When you upload an abstract you will be asked to select a section, we will do our best to accommodate your choice but please note that we may have to schedule your paper in a different section.
We are a large and diverse community and we want to include as many scholars as possible, as such each individual may only present a maximum of two papers, this includes co-authored papers and roundtable participation. Please also note that if you are submitting a panel this should include a minimum of 4 papers and a maximum of 5.
ECPG relies upon the service of its members, as such we may have to schedule you to be a Chair or a Discussant. We will not schedule any one individual to be Discussant or Chair on more than one panel. Please note that whilst we will do our best to schedule people who have indicated that they’re willing to serve we may have to schedule other participants in these roles if required. Please email us if you DO NOT wish to be a Chair or Discussant.
We are pleased to announce that we will be running our early-career researcher and speed-mentoring sessions again and we will also be running a new mid-career workshop – further details on both events will be circulated shortly.
We are also currently accepting submissions for the following 3 awards:
Joni Lovenduski PhD Prize in Gender and Politics
Gender and Politics Career Achievement Award
Best Paper in Gender and Politics Award
Further details about all 3 awards can be found on our website http://www.ecpg.eu/prizes-and-awards.html

Conference scholarships
ECPG recognises that international conference attendance can be expensive and that Turkish scholars are disproportionately burdened by the financial costs. As such, we have established 6 conference scholarships - 3 for PhD students and 3 for Faculty members.
The scholarship includes a conference fee waiver and additional expenses (upon receipts) of up to 500CHF (around €450). The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of a competitive process. Applicants should submit the following materials:
A letter outlining the importance and relevance of the proposed paper explaining why ECPG is an important conference for the development of this research.
A copy of the paper proposal
Applications should be submitted to ECPG ecpg1234@gmail.com by 1st February 2017, a decision will be taken shortly thereafter.
Finally, although we can’t promise an anarcho-feminist choir, there will be cheese fondue so we look forward to seeing you all in Lausanne!
Best wishes

Elizabeth Evans, Goldsmiths, University of London
